PRIZE
1975 - The Colombian Postmaster issued a stamp with Bertha's design, commemorating 50 years of the Rotary Club in Colombia
Her non-representational painting, that combines abstract forms and expressionist emotional values, is full of vivid energy and spontaneity. Always circles, not necessarily sun…or moon, gusts of colour… not necessarily wings… seem to be floating on wide spaces created for them. Parallel with her painting, in the last ten years Bertha dedicated most of her time on studying and developing an alternative expression of her artistic genius, JEWELRY ART DESIGN, achieving a unique and personal style where middle age, baroque, art nouveau and modernism are mixed in three-dimensional jewelry designs. All pieces are individually designed and hand crafted…or could we say, "sculpted" in gold, sterling and gemstones. An amazing collection of her jewelry and paintings were exhibited concomitantly at the art gallery El Nogal in Bogotá, Colombia.
